Spanish securities market Commission (Comision Nacional del mercado de valores in Spanish, cnmv) is an agency controlled by the Ministry of economy of Spain, and is responsible for supervising and inspecting the Spanish stock market, as well as the activity that occurs in the market.
It emerged in 1988 by Law 24/1988 of the securities market. It has undergone several updates with the adoption of new laws. The objectives of the CNMV are:
