Inter-american development bank (idb) is the largest source of developmental financing for Latin America and Caribbean.

It is organized so that each country appoints a governor, and each has a vote proportional to the amount of capital that the country has subscribed to the bank. The main shareholder is the United States, which owns 30.31% of the votes.
